Product Description

If you have an open sunlit space receiving 4-5 hours of sunshine you can cook your rice, daal and various other dishes for 4 people everyday using the solar cooker. Comes with manual showing cooking techniques for more than 50 items. 4 stainless steel cooking pots are included. Food does not get burnt in the solar cooker, tastes better, has more nutrition. No running or maintenance costs. Saves LPG. Design life 20 years.

On a clear day one can even do two rounds of cooking – say from 9 am to 12 noon and again from 12 noon till 3 pm. The great advantage of solar cooking is its convenience. You do not have to be on your legs in constant attendance. This is because the food never gets overcooked or burnt. You can “load-and-forget” the solar cooker, attending to other chores while it cooks. A typical loading of the cooker can be rice with twice the volume in one pot (it can take 250 gms of rice), dal in another pot, cut mixed vegetables of two varieties in the two other pots. One can cook not only food, but also roast nuts, dry vegetables and fruits (taking care to keep the glass lid slightly open to control the heat input), pasteurize water and even bake bread on a clear day at noon.

OTHER USAGES –

PASTEURIZATION – Water that has been heated to 65ºC (149ºF) for a short period of time is free from microbes including Escherichia coli, Rotaviruses, Giardia and the

Hepatitis A virus. At around 71ºC (160ºF), milk and food are pasteurized. Over one billion people do not have access to safe water. Diseases spread through

contaminated water include Amoebiasis (Amoebic Dysentery), Campylobacteriosis, Cholera, Cryptosporidiosis, Dracunculiasis (Guinea Worm disease), Giardiasis, Hepatitis A, Shigellosis (Bacillary Dysentery) and Typhoid Fever. Simple solar cookers can pasteurize water for a family at a rate of about one liter (one quart) per hour.

Disinfect dry medical supplies – Disease-causing organisms in dry medical supplies are killed by exposure to heat. When these medical supplies — such as instruments, bandages and other cloth materials — are heated to 149ºC (300ºF) for a short period of time they are free from nearly all organisms.
